By Ms. Hiroko Shigetomi (Tamatsukuri Church, Osaka Diocese)
My JLMM mission in Cambodia started in 2007 was terminated on 31st December, 2009. Though I miss the village people and children, I feel refreshed now and want to praise myself "You did a great job!"
<Good News >
Ms. Srey Nai who was supposed to study childcare in a teachers' training school in Phnom Penh cancelled the admittance to the school, came back to Taom Village due to sickness and decided to work here. She will attend the childcare course under a NGO for three months from March. So I can leave Taom Village without worry. I am very happy for the news.
She came back to the village during Christmas and made Christmas decoration with the village people and children. I really appreciate it. She advised me what was good to give as the Christmas present to the village people. The present were sickles, sun hats, long pants and shoes for farming. I would have never come across the idea of giving sickles as Christmas present if she had not given me the advice. Those who do not have sickle have to rent it.
She said that the reference books are good as present to young people. According to her it is not easy for
ninth-year (third-year of secondary school) students to pass the exam without reference books. Reference books are not sold in Taom Village and the children do no have money to buy them. They were very happy with the gifts. I was very happy seeing them happy.
Thank you, Srey Nai ! Thank you, God!
