"Start from the 25th Anniversary"
We
would like to express our gratitude to all of you for having
the 25th anniversary with your prayers and supports.
Two
hundred and fifty people attended the anniversary mass and
event on 3rd February, and people overseas shared the congratulation
through prayers. We shared our spirit "living together"
with our supporters, OBs, OGs and those who contributed
our training and operation. "We shared a piece of fish
with many people," "Though I could not cope with
my work well, the village people were with me all the time
and fully understood me," etc. These experiences of
"living together" were introduced by OBs and OGs
during the mass and the information gave the participants
concrete ideas of the place where we have been sent.

We
compiled our history of 25 years and messages by OBs and
OGs and published a memorial booklet. They mentioned, "I
still live with JLMM spirit" and "My JLMM experience
is my foundation." They share the idea that the working
field like school education, medication, welfare and international
cooperation is "the place of mission." An OG who
became a mother after her mission said, "My present
mission is to love my family and to tell my children to
love. Okan (mothers) generate world peace!" Her words
reminded us that we are sent for mission in our daily life.
Everything
that happened, everyone who related to us and his/her each
action in these twenty-five years were necessary for the
movement and I appreciate them. Those who had completed
their overseas mission and returned to Japan now live their
missions, think about the meaning of "living together"
and deepen it. A sister who read the booklet wrote to us,
"I felt Godユs idea and action in the serious steps
of peopleユs life."
We
produced a documentary movie on our activities during the
25 years. We interviewed Father, who often gives us advice
on our activities in north part of Thailand, and he mentioned,
"The village people are facing a lot of crises and
problems. They feel that they have no hope in the future
for the children and the village because they face so many
crises. So if DISAC and member of JLMM help by living giving
certain hope to the people, that hope is really a joy even
if it is a process along process. If you get people get
hope, you will be witnesses of the hope in the future."
He continued, "You can bring back the hope which the
people have experienced through you and it will be your
happiness."
It
is our mission that JLMM missionaries share their awareness,
lessons and "hopes" with as many people as possible
for the people in the world to "live together."
We have come out with the 3-years plan, throughout-all-of-Japan-project,
making use of our connection established taking 25 years
of time. We will expand and deepen our sharing and cooperation
through the joint projects with other missionary groups.

Through
the dialogues with peoples from churches, schools, groups
and individuals in Asia-Pacific region including Japan,
we like to understand what they are trying to require us
to do and what we can do for them. We wish to find our missions
and roles and respond to them. We appreciate that you will
move hand-in-hand with us and support the movement.
